Variable: Symptoms of bone infections can be quite variable depending on what bone is involved and how acute or chronic the infection is. Acute bone infections are usually painful with use of the affected area. There may be tenderness when pressed on, or red, and even swollen. Chronic bone infections can be very subtle with minimal pain, a dull ache, possible chronic draining wound. Get it checked out!

Osteomyelitis Sx: Symptoms of osteomyelitis is pain, local swelling, warmth. In more dramatic cases that are further advanced a hole called a sinus may open i. The skin and drain fluid. Lab work may show am elevated whit blood cell count or elevation of ESR or CRP both signs of inflammation. X-rays cat scans and MRI cal also assist in finding osteomyelitis. Final diagnosis is made by sampling the bone.
