Hand numbness: Many things can make your hand go numb. Almost all involve the nerves that send signals to your brain. Any nerve pinching or problem between your fingers and your brain can do it. The most common is probably carpal tunnel syndrome where a nerve (median) gets pinched by swelling in a fixed space. The nerve can't do it job (to send signals to your brain) causing numbness.
