A member asked:

Can an earache with dulled hearing be a symptom of an infected tooth or gums?

Not likely: I always hesitate to say "never, " but i don't believe I have heard impaired healing as a symptoms of a tooth infection. Ear pain is quite common, however. The pain can be a referred pain, or be originating in the jaw joint just in front of the ear. Best way to investigate is to have the teeth looked at by a dentist or see an ENT for your ears.

Maybe: Dental infection and abscess can cause pain radiating in the jaw and TMJ and cause earache. Tmj disorder can also cause pain and earaches at times. You need to go to your dentist to look into this.
