You don't know: First, this may have been the first sympomatic outbreak of a previously dormant infection. Second it is very difficult sometimes to pinpoint where the viral contact occurred. May be from oral sex or genital to genital contact. If with a male, from leaking semen around a condom. Hope it clears up soon.
