Metronidazole: The best treatment for trichomonas vaginalis is an antibiotic called Metronidazole (flagyl). If a doctor has determined that a patient has trichomonas, they will write a prescription for this antibiotic.

Rx for trichomasa: Some people do not tolerate flagyl, especially the generic. Tindamax is another option, but is much more expensive than the generic flagyl( metronidazole).
