No: As a general surgeon I have never heard this or have ever told my pt's this. On the contrary if your gb is dz'ed and becomes infected the risk of mortality increases ie decreased life expectancy.

No: There is no such evidence in general. In a specific case like a liver cancer or bile duct cancer, the patient may succumb to the illness quickly, because they can be that aggressive. Removal of the gb for stone disease has no effect on life expectancy.
