Healthy foods: Previously you may be getting gb attacks with fried food , now you no longer will get. With or without , gb should be eating lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, less red meats , more fish and required vitamins and minerals , plenty of exercise , and you feel good.

No: The gallbladder is involved with the digestion of fatty foods. The urinary bladder holds urine that has been filtered from the kidneys. The two structures are unrelated.

A 21-year-old member asked:
Can I have a tumor of the gallbladder?
2 doctor answers • 10 doctors weighed in
General Surgery 34 years experience
Yes.: Both benign and malignant tumors can develop within the gallbladder. A tumor is often found as a polyp on ultrasound; although an overwhelming majority are benign, we recommend removing the gallbladder if the polyp is 1 CM or larger. Cancers typically present incidently during gallbladder removal or at advanced states, due to their propensity to spread to the liver.

No: The function of the gallbladder is to store and concentrate the bile that is created by the liver and secreted into your intestines. Its presence is not necessary for digestion.

Low Fat Diet: There isn't a post gallbladder removal diet. You may have diarrhea after your gallbladder has been removed. Avoid high-fat foods, fried foods, and greasy foods. Increase the fiber in your diet.Eat smaller, more frequent meals.

A 28-year-old male asked:
After gallbladder removal ? Do we have side effects life long if we eat fatty foods ?
2 doctor answers • 2 doctors weighed in

Not at all: The gallbladder is not a vital organ. We restrict diet to low fat only in the pre op condition. Once the gallbladder is removed we lift all restrictions, allowing all types of foods, including pizza, cheese, etc. Some people have temporary urgency in the early post op period, which is self limited. You don't have to avoid fatty foods. Good luck.
