Bactroban (mupirocin): Bactroban (mupirocin) ointment applied twice a day for one week each month to the anterior nares, umbilicus, peri-rectal area and under the fingernails may clear colonization. Culture and appropriate oral antibiotics would treat active infection but does not clear these sites.

Figure out why!: Several antibiotic regimens can be used- but once your treatment is done, you will get reinfected! the most important thing to do, is to determine the source of infection. So you can control it. -sources like: 1.Bath puff 2.Equipment used at work. 3. Sharing clothing. -source control example- avoid ingrown hairs or nicks seen when: 4.Wearing tight clothing. 5.Shaving. 6. Using make-up.

See a dermatologist: Treatment can be very effective depending on diagnosis. Mrsa is a type of bacteria, not a diagnosis. You may have hidradenitis suppuritiva or some other disorder to manage.

Culture all in house: Check for carriers in the household, including pets. Often there is a source for recurring infections. If possible, culture and sensitivity should be done and consider a longer (30day) course of treatment based on sensitivity.
