Bacterial vaginosis?: Ureaplasma is normal in female genital tract, rarely any need to test and if a test is positive, usually no treatment required. Gardnerella is also normal, but "recurrent gardnerella infection" suggests bacterial vaginosis. BV is overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria, including Gardnerella. The usual treatment is metronidazole (Flagyl®) by mouth. No other antibiotic is needed because of Ureaplasma.
