Can taking neurontin (gabapentin) with methadone cause a patient to have a false positive uds?

See below: Neurontin (gabapentin) - no. But Methadone is a type of opiate (narcotic). Most current drug tests should not register an opiate if you just take Methadone but some may give a positive reading. However, the lab or office that is doing the test should know your current medications to rule those out. And, generally, if positive, a second test (gas chromatograph or gc) will be done to find the exact drug/med.
