Need delirium w/u: Your description sounds like delirium, which i hope is resolving. If the Effexor (venlafaxine) is new & recently preceded these symptoms, it is a possible cause. Has he used any other substances -- hallucinogens, alcohol, occult benzos, etc -- or might he be withdrawing from something he hasn't told you about? His k+ is a little low. Does he have fever or other medical illnesses? Diabetes, etc?

EFFEXOR (venlafaxine): Effexor (venlafaxine) can cause high blood pressure and stroke or cardiac issues causing delirium or may be other medical causes.
