A member asked:

I just recently started having a sharp stabbing pain in my left calf. the pain lasts for a few seconds and now there's a lump what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Muscle pull: We're always concerned with blood clots when we see calf pain, but this does not sound like one since you dont mention redness, swelling or tenderness. My best guess given the supplied info is either a pulled or partially torn gastrocnemius (resulting in a palpable lump) or possibly a soft tissue mass giving you nerve pain. "lumps" should never b ignored. See your doctor and have it checked.
