Is it controlled?: Is your friend being treated for schizophrenia, and is the schizophrenia controlled? Is he or she a danger to himself and/or others? If your friend answers yes to any of these questions, or with your observation you answer yes to any of these questions, strongly advise your friend to see a psychiatrist before going to work. Schizophrenia is a treatable psychiatric condition.

Friend Schizo: Can you help your friend get to a psychiatrist, help make sure your friend's family is involved? You shouldn't have to be the one to decide if he should work. But, if he has lost touch with reality and becomes dangerous, call 911 and get help. Be careful you are not placed in the position of handling a dangerous situation by yourself.
