Is electricity still used to treat schizophrenia?

ECT: Electroshock therapy is still used for types of schizophrenia, especially catatonia but mostly for severe depression that hasn't responded to medications and psychotherapy. Modern ECT, which us performed under anesthesia and only on patients cleared by a physician after medical examination, is safe and often very effective.

NOT REALLY: If you mean ECT or shock treatment then the answer is no. Electroconvulsive therapy is typically used for unremitting mood disorder like extreme mania or depression that is not responsive to medications. Does not help with schizophrenia usually.
