Punctures heal: A puncture wound is an incision into the skin by a sharp instrument, and the damage produced is related to the depth and width of the puncture. A shallow, clean, wound, should not get infected and heal by merely washing with soap and water and using a bandaid. A deep wound can injure deeper structures, even the bowel or thef heart.
