Allergy to opiates: Your description of allergic to opiates needs to be fleshed out a little more. Most people typically mean bad reaction such as nasuea/vomiting or itching being the most common. A true allergy to one opiate doesn't exclude other opiates. The cross-reactivity is not very high. They are very useful medications when a patient truly needs them.
