Depends: Deep infection /surgery may cause pressure on the nerve or damage the nerve which leads to temporary or permanent "numbness". See your dentist for their evaluation.

Guarded: Your dentist would be the best one to answer this question for you. Not having seen or treated you, makes it difficult to answer that question. It's important to be sure the infection is completely gone. Also discuss the use of corticosteroids with your dentist. The prognosis gets worse over time and if proper treatment is delayed. Consider a second opinion with a reputable oral surgeon.
