Trichtillomania: Your friend needs a psychiatrist or psychologist to help her. Don't worry about the lashes; they will grow back in about six weeks.

Trichitillomania: There are several kinds of body-focused repetitive behaviors, which include pulling out hairs, or trichitillomania. If your friend stops the behavior, her eyelashes will grow back in several weeks -- but specific therapy is needed to interrupt the behavior. Usually this is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy with habit reversal & stimulus control. More info: http://www.Trich.Org/.
