Possible...: While chaffing is one possibility, another is a yeast skin infection. Yeast like to grow where it is dark and damp, so the underarm area is a frequent place. If he has been on any antibiotics recently, if your environment has been particularly hot and humid, these are conditions that yeast love. If it is yeast, he will need an anti-fungal cream to treat it.
