6 weeks since open mesh inguinial hernia surgery. back to exercising but get stabs of pain in hardened area beneath scar when i have gas. reoccurance?

Unlikely: To have a hernia recurrence. Sharp discomforts that come and go and deep scar firmness are common & temporary findings after inguinal hernia surgery. Call and make an appointment to be examined by your surgeon to be sure.

Only yourMD can tell: It may not be recurrence just healing process, but always possible , need examination possible tests , to find out if it is a recurrence or not . . Best way to find out is go for a follow up examination to your surgeon.
