Proteinuria: Protein crea ratio approximately tells us how protein may be there in a 24 hour urine sample. A random sample or urine protein divided by random urine crea. A value of .5 could mean there could be 500 mg in a 24 he samples and a value of 2 could mean 2 gms. A 24 hour urine collection is more appropriate. If there is proteinuria then you should be evaluated by a nephrologist.
