Is it recomemded to check for blocked arteries with a new diagnosis of high cholesterol?

No.: At age 30 blocked arteries are very unlikely. Cholesterol is just one risk factor among many that lead to blocked arteries. The best test for blocked arteries may well be exercise. If you can exercise all your extremites without difficulty it is unlikely you have any significant blockage.
