Plantar Wart???: Plantar refers to...The bottom of the foot. The worst places would be directly under weight bearing surfaces, like under a metatarsal head, under the fifth metatarsal base, or under the heel. See a podiatrist for exam and confirmation of this diagnosis... Then treatment options.

See a podiatrist: A 'hole' on the bottom of your child's foot is not normal and should be medically evaluated. Often it can be as simple as a plantars wart but can also be a foreign body like a splinter.

Plantar wart: Warts are caused by a virus and are common in children. As they enlarge they thicken. Pressure then hurts. Treatment can include otc acid preparations. Sometimes they will go away on there own, but sometimes they will spread. I recommend visiting a podiatrist.
