Often: We use several parameters such as last menstrual period, first detection of the baby's heart beat, and serial ultrasounds(more than one) to perform day/dates comparisons for due dates by measuring the baby's bi-parietal diameters + other things. A single ultrasound can be off by plus or minus 10 days to 2 weeks.
