Yes: Finacea does help melasma. For your acne you probably need several meds to control it. Even accutane.

Can happen : Finacea gel is Azelaic Acid which has some efficacy for rosacea and acne but does not suit everyone. If it is irritating your skin, it may paradoxically flare up acne. It also has some fading properties, but if it is not working, you can try other products containing hydroquinone, such as lustra or tri-luma. Also laser treament may work best for melisma for some people.
