Are the symptoms of gout bad?

Yes: Gout can cause red, swollen, painful joints. Sometimes it can be asymptomatic. The joint between the foot and the big toe is often involved. These symptoms typically occur after a large meal or after drinking alcohol. Can also occur in the knee. Caused by purine metabolism problems. Gout should be evaluated and treated by a physician.

Yes: A gout attack is one of the most severe joint pains that you can experience. Other symptoms of gout can be kidney stones (also painful) or chalky deposits in the skin ( painful if large and draining through the skin). The good news is that gout is a very treatable disease with dietary changes and medications.
