Amitriptylene: Amitriptylene is an antidepressant whose side effects can help ibs -- especially when bowel activity is overactive. It can also cause changes in blood pressure when standing up from a lying position. This may dissipate in a few more days. Taking it at bedtime may help alleviate this & any sedating effects too. Please tell your doctor about any increase in depressive symptoms though!

Probably get better.: 10 mg is low dose and generally not associated with such side effects at that dose. Could produce some sense of dizzy which mightget better with time. Amitriptylline is an antidepressant.

Amitriptyline: Excellent input already regarding orthostatic hypotension. However, I am not aware of depressed mood as being a potential side effect of amitriptyline. REF: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/amitriptyline-side-effects.html
