Outpouchings: Most common diverticulosis affects the colon or large bowel. Diverticula are outpouchings of colonic mucosa and submucosa through weaknesses of muscle layers in colon wall. These are more common in the sigmoid colon this is uncommon before the age of 40.Complications can include infection, bleeding, and perforation.Many patients have minimal or no sxs.Prevention of constipation with high fiber diet.
