A member asked:

Does pain in chest move from right to left with plueresy or do i possibly have an embolism .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Could be either: Sharp pains (either side) on inspiration define a pleuritic discomfort. This can occur from inflammation of the pleura, the lung tissue itself, it the chest wall/adjacent structures (like te pericardium or esophagus). It is caused by irritated membranes that stimulate nerves upon movement (occurs with chest expansion). Pulmonary embolism and pleurisy are 2 of many poss causes. See your doc.
