Tics: Tics are usually increased in stressful situations or when one gets hyper and emotional. Relaxation activity like watching tv may increase tics. Activities that deviates ones attention by concentrating on an absorbing activity decreases tics. Decreasing anxiety and stress helps it. There are medication like Clonidine and risperdat that are used to treat tics if they are affecting daily activities.

It depends: Relaxation techniques can vary from person to person. Some people relax by doing things that they enjoy, such an painting or drawing. Other people can relax by listening to music or playing an instrument. Yoga and activities such as regular exercise, karate and tae kwon do are options that can help certain people.
