Can I take birth control while breastfeeding?

Yes: Certain forms of hormonal birth control can decrease your milk supply and aren't recommended for breastfeeding mothers. However there are some progestin-only forms of birth control (pills, injections and iuds) that shouldn't affect your supply. Talk to your OB about what method might be right for you.

Just started birth control again. There is clearish fluid discharging from breasts. What could it be?

Probably nothing: Birth control pills are known to cause hormonal resets in a woman's body. Breast is hormone regulated organ, so that is no surprise you are reacting the way you are. Chances are with the next cycle you may not have any, although, i did have patients who were lactating all along. In that case, i'd check prolactin level and rule out other causes for lactation.
A 48-year-old member asked:

Are their natural ways / home remedies to get over a sinus infection?

1 doctor answer4 doctors weighed in
Dr. John McMahan

Sinus Infections: You can try drinking lots of fluids, steam, salt water nasal sprays, various herbs and neti pots. The success of these treatments is quite variable and dependent on how severe the infection is, how long you have had it, the severity of your allergies, septal deviations, nasal polyps, etc. Etc. See your ENT doc if the sinus issues persist... They can become serious or chronic if you delay too long.
A 33-year-old member asked:

How is birth control affected by amoxicillin?

1 doctor answer2 doctors weighed in
Dr. Timothy Brown
Obstetrics and Gynecology 44 years experience
It decreases it: Amoxicillin, like the majority of commonly used antibiotics, interfere with the effectiveness of the birth control pill. You should use some form of backup contraception during the cycle that you are taking the antibiotic.
