Can colitis or any other colon disease present with an inflamed mass outside of ascending colon?

Could represent: A bowel perforation and pericolononic abscess or a muscle tumor. I would need more information from the test that demonstrated this mass to be of any help.Need more details.

Unlikely: Unless there is a localized perforation or abscess formation the inflammation would be in the wall of the colon.
