Follow MD's orders: What does your doctor say about this? Even without an MRI a physical exam should be able to determine the stability of the knee. If the knee is determined to be unstable, then playing on it can in fact do more damage. Braces do not entirely solve this problem. If unstable, surgery is the best course of action.

Involved: Your recovery depends on the rehab physical therapy you had, only the orthopedic surgeon in conjunction with the physical therapist can say you are ready for the stress of competitive soccer.
