A member asked:

If you have had botulism, is it a contradiction to have a botox afterwards? or does it make any difference? it is being used to treat gastroparesis.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be immune : If you have developed neutralizing antibodies to the Botox protein, the Botox may not work. This happens occasionally in patients who use Botox injections for wrinkles on the forehead. Over time, after multiple sessions of injections, some patients develop antibodies to Botox and either need larger doses to work or it sometimes doesn't work for them anymore.
