A member asked:

I got botox today to treat non diabetic gastroparesis what can i expect and how effective is it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Effective: In gastroparesis, the muscle in the outlet of the stomach is injected to help it relax and improve stomach emptying. Side effects of the medication are few and are related to spread of the medication to undesired areas. I have injected this medication for years (for muscle tightness) and have not had problems besides local discomfort. It will take a few days to start feeling the effect.
