Start easy: Medications with low adverse effects include melatonin and other ones at the health food store. Ambien and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) are widely used these days but both have quite some side effects. Hopefully prescription free drugs will do the job. However, sometimes there is an underlying problem that may cause sleep problems. Having it diagnosed by a sleep doc is useful for many patients.
