No: Geographic tongue is of unknown etiology. The filiform papillae are missing in these areas leaving bald spots.No treatment is necessary but vitamin b complex can be given.The white areas come and go.

Yes: Migratory glossitis (geographic tongue) has been found in many people who suffer from celiac disease and other auto-immune disorders. It is not a definitive sign that one has problems with gluten, but the association is fairly high and gives reason for further testing and investigation.
