A member asked:

9-month-old granddaughter has always been at 50th percentile for ht & wt but, at 9-mo check-up, fell to 5th for ht & wt. how common is this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not uncommon: At this age, children are changing from milk to foods as their main source of nutrition. In that process, they may not eat as many calories as they were for a while. Just keep offering healthy meals and snacks (if needed). Recheck her weight and height at the 12 month well check, and see if she is catching back up again. If not, discuss with her doctor.
