5 month old has a chin quiver not related to seizures (had eeg done). saw neurologist who is not worried and will f/u at 9 mo. is this common or normal? was 6 weeks early. is alert and active, no other symptoms. not as noticeable as he grows older.

Normal baby : These are normal movements which have been thoroughly evaluated. Keep the neuro follow up at 9 months and check in with your pediatrician for his 6 month visit!

Normal: This is not uncommon. It seems to be related to an immature neuromuscular system and improves with age. Follow up with your neurologist. It sounds like he is doing well.

Mgt: Metabolic causes such as hypoglycemia in a premature infant may also be considered if it is not a seizure and the neurological work up is fine.

Quivering : I would feel comfortable with diagnosis of it happening because he was a premature infant. Nothing to worry about
