How do pathologists count how many cores they have from a breast core biopsy?number of times dr went in always correlate with # of cores obtained?

Count the cores: The different cores may be submitted to the pathologist in separate containers; even if that is not the case gross examination of all tissues submitted to pathology included count of cores. Some needle passes may not recover tissue.
