Tough time: Medical school is hard and most students are anxious. Have you made any friends yet? Talk to some upperclassmen-they can give you good tips. Maybe go for a walk with a friend and try to go to bed at the same time each night and don't stay up too late.

Big picture: This is common and help should be readily available. Every med school provides some guidance here. Avoid benzodiazepienes -- they prevent learning. Your long-term goals are building friendships in the medical community (your new family), and especially remembering the real goal -- serving humankind. You're taking the hardest and hoblest walk a human being can possibly take. It's worth it.
