A member asked:

What is an approximate percentage of people who grow out of their pet allergies in the future?

Pet Allergies: Cat allergy tends to be harder to deal with as many more people own cats and the dander is highly allergenic. Dog allergy usually less severe but they go outside and pick up the tree/grass/weed pollen then bring it indoors. There is no good scientific data to support a specific age of outgrowing a pet allergy.

Animal allergies: I am not aware of any data on the number or percentage of patients outgrowing their pet allergies. Many of these sensitivities are longlasting and ubiquitous. Patients are frequently exposed at school, in the wokplace or just visitng relatives and friends.
