Yes,esp. if organic!: Cherries are incredibly healthy. They're rich in antioxidants & flavonoids like anthocyanins & quercitin. They reduce inflammation, improve blood sugar regulation & have compounds known to prevent heart disease, cancer & alzheimer's. Yes: Cherries contain anthocyanins which help to prevent free radical damage to cells. Cherries can decrease levels of uric acid (gout).One study suggested that ingesting montgomery tart cherries helped osteoarthritis pain. One cup of cherries is only 87 calories and has 2.9 grams of fiber. They are low in fat & sodium.Viva la cherry!
