A 44-year-old member asked:

what happens if i kiss my boyfriend who's taking penicillin if im allergic to it?

Probably: It would be unlikely to develop an allergic reaction from touching another person who has been taking an antibiotic that a person is sensitive to. With that said, there could be enough haptenated penicillin metabolites in bodily secretions to trigger a reaction in a highly allergic person. In other words, closed mouth kissing should be safe.

Yes: No problem taking penicillin class antibiotics with alcohol but keep it in moderation. If you have a significant infection it would be best to abstain until the infection has resolved.

A female asked:

I'm currently taking penicillin but planning on drinking tomorrow night is this okay ?

Probably OK, but...: There is no interaction between penicillin and alcohol; it should be safe to drink alcohol in moderation. However, alcohol may not be good for the infection being treated. Probably no serious problem if you don't drink heavily, but it would be best to check with the doctor who prescribed it.
