Not with anesthesia: Not if patient is asleep & few hours after if local anesthetic injected into base of penis before he wakes. Painless during if done unedr local anesthesia (la), minor pinprick pain from la needle, less if Emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) cream applied 1/2 hour before. Coban bandaage post-op prevents swelling & minimizes pain. Pain killers post-op recommended. Some prescribe Ativan to reduce painful post-op erections.
