Liposuction: Abdominal etching is liposuction done to carve out the shape of a "six-pack" - or well defined rectus abdominus muscles - by suctioning out more fat where the tendinous parts are, and leaving behind more fat where the muscle bellies should be - to make it look as though you have more muscle development than you really do. In standard liposuction, you would try to reduce the fat thickness evenly.

Abdominal Etching: The Abdominal Etching® (Ab Etching® , Ab Etch®) liposuction technique was created for a more visible muscular definition in the male torso. Also referred to as the “washboard abs” look, the procedure is designed for men who are relatively fit who desire a leaner, chiseled abdominal appearance.
