Liposuction: Abdominal etching is liposuction done to carve out the shape of a "six-pack" - or well defined rectus abdominus muscles - by suctioning out more fat where the tendinous parts are, and leaving behind more fat where the muscle bellies should be - to make it look as though you have more muscle development than you really do. In standard liposuction, you would try to reduce the fat thickness evenly.
