Endometriosis is a medical condition where women experience lower abdominal/pelvic pain, pain during periods &outside of periods, pain w/penetration, pain w/passing stool, infertility, ovarian cysts and so forth. Inside the pelvis, some patient have lesions/ scar tissue & others do not. Not understood re: its development. Theories incl: menstrual backflow lymphovascular spreading, alter immunity.

Endometriosis is the abnormal migration and proliferation of the cells lining the uterus. It can give pelvic pain and cause other symptoms depending where it migrates.
