Can my baby get a rash from digging in a wet sandlot?

Yes: Yes, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't allow them to play and "just be a kid." some children have sensitive skin conditions such as eczema which can be aggravated by many different factors. After playing in the sand, gently clean your child's skin, and change them into clean/dry clothes.

Yes: Great answer from dr katz. Yes wet sand can be irritating, chafing, and lead to rash...Just like getting sand in your suit at the beach. Just wash off and use lotion like calendula after playing. Also wash hands well as children can get worms from sand lots. It is important to be a kid...Just wash up after getting dirty.
