Depends on you: Use ice on the side of the face next to the extraction site for about 3 hours while biting on cotton at the extractio sites, then the best and most effective pain relief is to take 1 regular Aspirin together with 1 regular tylenol (acetaminophen) at the same time - repeat every 4 hours. This is a remarkable combination that helps the healing tissue at the site of the surgery as well as gives relief of pain.

Extraction Pain: This is based on three factors: 1. Type of impactions (full bony will be more painful than soft tissue impacted) 2. Amount of post-op swelling, also related to type of impaction but can be counteracted with intra-op steroid, ice application, & 800mg ibuprofen. 3.Your pain threshold. A combo of 800mg Ibuprofen & a narcotic analgesic like vicodin makes recovery manageable. Skill of surgeon helps!
