Multiple causes : Some cancers in the vagina such as melanoma can occur due to a genetic predisposition or from a preexisting mole. Hpv infections can increase the risk of cancer in the genital area. Other vaginal cancers include extramammary paget's disease or squamous cell carcinomas. See a dermatologist if you have any lesions that are concerning you.
